The Junior Citizen Scheme is a partnership initiative aimed at giving children the skills to deal with a wide range of emergency situations, and to enable them to make a valued contribution to their local community through good citizenship while at the same time encouraging a sense of community responsibility.
It is designed to deliver training to enable the children to deal with situations that they may encounter in their lives. The scheme aims to improve understanding and awareness of the following areas, Community Safety, Personal Safety, Fear of Crime, Drugs and Alcohol, First Aid, and Youth Disorder through practical scenarios, videos and workshops; encouraging them to think through problems they are confronted with and resolve them successfully.
By providing children in the area with these messages we are encouraging them to grow up to be safer more responsible citizens of the future creating safer, stronger and healthier communities.
