The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 came into force on 1 October 2006 and requires that all employers or persons who have control of any premises must conduct a fire risk assessment and act on the significant findings arising from it.
In association with a company called RiskSmart, we are conducting a 'fire risk assessment awareness campaign' not only to inform you of the situation, but also to try and provide help and support for you to be able to meet the legal requirements.
To explain the legislation and various options available to you in more detail, we have arranged for an advisor to give you a call and explain just how easy legal compliance can be.
On behalf of Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service a company called 'RiskSmart' is conducting a campaign in our region speaking to all businesses and explaining the requirement for businesses to conduct a fire risk assessment.
You will have received a letter from Chief Fire Officer Dominic Harrison of Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service, but the follow-up telephone call is being made by a UK based telemarketing company. They are official fire and rescue service partners and will explain the various options available to you.
No, it is an information not a sales call. The caller will help you identify if you have a fire risk assessment. If you have not got one, they will explain the various options available to you. One of the options is to subscribe to a Risksmart, online service, which will enable you to complete a fire risk assessment.
Another option is the opportunity to attend a free information workshop, where Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service staff will provide information on how to comply with the law and also what you can expect during a visit from a fire safety inspector.
I keep on receiving calls, why?
The campaign runs for three months and our objective is to speak with as many businesses as possible. If you do not wish to receive any further calls then please email your details to louise.richardson@risksmartgroup.com.
