At 1103 hours on Tuesday 16th March 2010, reports of a grassland fire were received for Kirkby Moor, Kirkby In Furness. The incident was attended by an appliance from Broughton, together with Watch Manager Dolan. On arrival the incident was found to involve 2000 square metres of grassland which was extinguished using beaters. The appliance returned to home station at 1314 hours. At 1114 hours on Tuesday 16th March 2010, reports were received of a fire involving a quantity of kerosene in a boiler room at Cockermouth Golf Club, Embleton. The incident was attended by a pump from Cockermouth, together with WM Charlton. On arrival the incident involved kerosene on fire in the boiler room and was extinguished using 1 hose reel and a dry powder extinguisher. The appliance returned to home staton at 1227 hours. At 0323 hours on Tuesday 16th March 2020 following a call from the ambulance control, 2 appliances and the major rescue vehicle from Carlisle, along with Station Manager Drinkald attended reports of a road traffic collision with persons believed trapped on the A595 at Newby Cross, Carlisle. Although all persons had been released prior to fire service arrival there were 3 male casualties who were transferred to hospital by ambulance. Fire service were engaged making the scene safe using small hand tools and returned home station at 0355. At 2041 hours on Sunday 14th March 2010, reports were received of a large fire involving grass and gorse on Lowick Common, Lowick Green, near Ulverston. The incident was attended by appliances from Broughton, Dalton, Coniston, Ulverston, Millom, Barrow and Windermere, together with Group Manager Duncan Taylor, Watch Manager Mark Roach and Station Manager Steve Bushell. At 1220 hours on Monday, 15th March 2010, 2 appliances from Grange and Watch Manager Stuart Dolan attended reports of a large fire off the A590 at High Newton near Grange over Sands. The fire involved approximately 2000 square metres of grass and gorse. The crews extinguished the fire using the Fire Express system, Scotty back packs, one hosereel, beaters, a light portable pump, hose and a branch before returning to home station at 1443 hours. The incident involved 10,000 square metres of grass and gorse on fire, which was extinguished using one main jet, fire express equipment and beaters. The incident involved an area of grass and gorse on fire, measuring approximately one kilometre by one kilometre. The fire was extinguished using beaters and scotty back packs. At 1729 hours on Monday 8th March 2010, appliances from Silloth, Wigton and Carlisle along with Station Manager John Wall attended reports of a cow stuck in quick sand just outside of Abbeytown. The 350kg heifer was stuck up to its head in quick sand and access to the cow was extremely difficult. Crews donned in dry suits, life jackets, animal protective clothing and using airpaths tried to reach the cow but were only able to get within 5m of it. Crews then returned to the bank side and following liaison with a vet and RSPCA decided that the only solution was to destroy the heifer. Crews stood by awaiting the arrival of police marksmen and the last appliance returned home station at 2245. At 2136 hours on Monday 8th March 2010, 2 appliances from Carlisle attended reports from police of a road traffic collision on London Road junction with Eastern Way, Carlisle. The incident involved 2 private motor vehicles and paramedics who were already on scene at the time of call required fire service assistance to remove a casualty from one of the vehicles. Fire service assisted in lifting the casualty clear using a ?longboard?. And transferred her to a waiting ambulance, returning to station at 1331 hours.

Along with Station Manager Wall were mobilised to Flimby Lonning, near Maryport to assist ambulance personnel with a man who was trapped in machinery. The casualty had been trapped by his leg but was released by ambulance personnel prior to fire service arrival. Fire service assisted with making the casualty comfortable and transferred him to the waiting ambulance returning to station at 1440 hours.

At 0919 hours on Friday 5th March 2010, 2 appliances from Carlisle attended reports from the Police of a road traffic collision on Baron Way, Kingsmoor Business Park, Carlisle. It was reported that the incident involved 2 private motor vehicles and persons were trapped in one of the vehicles. On arrival the fire service assisted one person from one of the vehicles and made the scene safe using holmatro spreaders and hearth kit. There was a total of 2 casualties that were treated by paramedics. The appliances returned home station at 0954. On arrival it was found that a ground floor flat was well alight. The occupants in the flat above were rescued by firefighters using a 9 metre ladder and transported to the Carlisle Infirmary by Ambulance suffering smoke inhalation. Upon arrival, an upstairs bedroom was well alight. Two firefighters donned in breathing apparatus extinguished the fire using one hosereel. Crews returned to home station at 1051 hours. The fire involved a 3 storey building measuring approximately 20 metres by 30 metres.
