North West Fire Control - Control Room Operator

North West Fire Control is a regional emergency fire control set up exclusively by the Fire Services in the North West to jointly handle all 999 emergency calls and be responsible for mobilising firefighters, fire engines and specialist response teams to life threatening emergencies in Cumbria, Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Cheshire.

We work closely with other bluelight services and agencies and cover a large geographical area to deal with a range of emergencies. The area covered includes large rural areas, dense urban areas, airports and nuclear installations, not to mention a complex and busy motorway network.

North West Fire Control is looking for enthusiastic and committed individuals who want to make a difference to people’s lives and safety.  Being a Control Room Operator is more than just answering calls, it’s about gathering and sharing critical information from a range of sources with emergency responders, supporting decision-making, providing ongoing incident support and helping to keep people safe.

We train and develop our people to provide a skilled, motivated and competent fire control professional.
