Watch Manager, Incident Command Lead – L&D


Location: Penrith Service HQ – willingness to travel countywide and nationally where required for the development of Incident Command training and regional meetings.


Salary: WM Grey Book (+10% L&D Allowance)


Job Type: Temporary Cover (initially 3 months) – 42 Hours per week.


Eligibility: INTERNAL ONLY. Competent, permanent Fire-fighter or above with an in date ICL1 qualification.

Key Responsibilities:
•    Incident command lead and link to incident command managers

Responsible for:
•    Managing level 1 & 2 Incident Command development and assessment.
•    Support level 3 & 4 Incident Command development and assessment where necessary.
•    Lead the activities of the team of Incident Command Managers and Associates.
•    Reviewing policies, procedures and risk assessment related to Incident Command training.
•    General instruction on other courses where necessary.
•    Standardisation of all other instructors for incident command.


About You:
Essential:
•    You must be a competent, permanent fire-fighter or above with an in date ICL1 qualification to apply.
•    Applicants must have sound working knowledge of IT systems.
•    Willingness to attend residential courses if requested to obtain the relevant Instructor/Teaching qualifications, if not already achieved.
•    Strong leadership and team management skills.
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
•    Strong organisational and co-ordinating skills. 
•    Be sensitive to the needs of the On-Call members of staff.
Desirable:
•    Holds existing instructional qualifications.
