CFRS0163 - Technical Services Coordinator

Join Our Team as a Technical Services Coordinator!

Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service is an inclusive employer that is professional, supportive, and community focussed, striving to make Cumbria a Safer Place for all.

We're seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to fill the role of Technical Services Coordinator, within the Technical Services Department.

About Technical Services:

Our Technical Services team, an integral part of the wider Infrastructure and Fleet Department, is pivotal in supporting all facets of our organisation. From providing essential personal protective equipment (PPE), and providing both operational and non-operational staff with uniforms, to facilitating the procurement, distribution, testing and maintenance of risk-critical equipment to our operational teams. The Technical Services team stands at the forefront of operational readiness.

About the Role:

As a Technical Services Coordinator, you'll be at the helm of maintaining and enhancing our digital systems, including asset management software, while ensuring compliance with procurement frameworks. Your responsibilities will encompass cataloguing of service stock, overseeing commissioning and decommissioning processes, ensuring records are accurately maintained, and promptly addressing any issues. Additionally, you'll manage stock control, ensuring schedule adherence, and foster strong stakeholder relationships.

This role also entails supervising the service's hydrant maintenance, key to ensuring efficient incident response capabilities for our operational crews. Your expert advice will guide department leadership in addressing any operational concerns or repair needs.

Your contributions in this role will directly affect the frontline firefighters and our communities, underlining the crucial role of the Technical Services team within our organisation.

Please see the Tech Services Coordinator Post Specification (job description) linked here (WORD)

Who We're Looking For:

The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of health and safety legislation, ideally backed by an IOSH Managing Safely qualification (or equivalent). Proficiency in modern office software and a track record of delivering technical work with precision and efficiency are essential.

While previous experience within a Fire Service is advantageous, it's not a prerequisite, we enthusiastically welcome applications from diverse backgrounds.

This dynamic role offers a blend of office-based work, remote flexibility, and visiting our suppliers, providing ample opportunities to engage with a diverse array of colleagues and stakeholders.
